Chinese Hospital proudly announces the successful completion of its 29th Charity Golf Tournament, held on October 21st at the prestigious San Francisco Olympic Club , rallying community members and supporters to raise vital funds for its healthcare services and the expansion of its Cancer and Infusion Center.
The day kicked off with a ceremonial shotgun start, led by California Assemblymember Phil Ting and State Treasurer Fiona Ma. The tournament provided a fun and engaging way for participants to support a critical cause, helping Chinese Hospital address the challenges facing healthcare providers today.
“As healthcare systems continue to face rising costs, workforce shortages, and the lingering impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, the generosity of our community allows us to maintain and improve our services,” said Dr. Jian Zhang, CEO of Chinese Hospital. “This support is crucial for us to continue delivering the care our patients depend on.”
A major portion of the funds will go toward the expansion of the Cancer and Infusion Center, which will enhance the hospital’s ability to offer specialized cancer care in the heart of San Francisco Chinatown. “By expanding this critical service, we are ensuring that our patients and their families receive exceptional care close to home, when they need it most,” Dr. Zhang emphasized.
Following the golf tournament, guests enjoyed a cocktail reception, and awards ceremony with an exciting live auction, hosted by former San Francisco Mayor Willie L. Brown, Jr., and Supervisor Aaron Peskin. The auction featured exclusive items, with all proceeds directly benefiting the hospital’s healthcare programs and the Cancer Center expansion campaign.
“We are incredibly grateful to everyone who participated, from players to sponsors and volunteers, for making this event such a success,” said Dr. Zhang. “Their generosity will help us continue navigating the challenges in healthcare and ensure that we can provide quality healthcare services to our community.”
