Chinese Hospital, in collaboration with the City of Millbrae and UCSF Health, successfully hosted a community health fair on Saturday, August 17th, 2024, at the Millbrae Recreation Center. This event was a cornerstone of the hospital’s ongoing efforts to engage with the local community, providing essential health services and strengthening community connections.

The health fair drew hundreds of residents from Millbrae and San Mateo County. Attendees had access to critical health screenings, including blood pressure, glucose, BMI, bone density, and hepatitis B testing. Additionally, the event featured interactive health education sessions on important topics such as nutrition, stroke care, diabetes management, mental health, and Alzheimer’s disease.

“This health fair exemplifies our commitment to proactive community engagement and outreach,” said Dr. Jian Zhang, Chinese Hospital CEO. “We are dedicated to not only providing high-quality healthcare within our facilities but also extending our services and education to the broader community, meeting people where they live and work.”

“This health fair is a perfect example of how collaboration can build a healthier, stronger community. We are honored to partner with Chinese Hospital to bring these essential health services directly to our residents. It’s partnerships like these that truly make a lasting difference in the lives of our community members,” said Anders Fung, City of Millbrae Mayor.

Chinese Hospital is grateful to the partners who made this event possible, including the City of Millbrae, UCSF Health, CCHP, CCHRC, SF Hep B Free, Self-Help for the Elderly, Alzheimer’s Association, Central County Fire Department, San Mateo County Health – Chinese Health Initiative, CMS, By the Bay Health, Peninsular Family Services, GO2 for Lung Cancer, Angel Palliative Care and Hospice, San Mateo Daily Journal and Samuel Merritt University.
