Families in Millbrae and surrounding areas came together for a day of health and community at the Millbrae Health & Fun Fair, hosted by Chinese Hospital and CCHP in partnership with the City of Millbrae and Peninsula Health Care District on Saturday, August 2, at the Millbrae Recreation Center.
The fair welcomed hundreds of attendees and offered free health screenings and resources, including glucose, vision, hearing, and bone density checks. Participants also engaged in educational sessions on key health topics such as hepatitis awareness, stroke prevention, chronic disease management, mental health, and Alzheimer’s care. This vibrant event is part of Chinese Hospital and CCHP’s ongoing commitment to expanding access to preventive care in San Mateo County and fostering meaningful partnerships that strengthen community health.
“We are honored to return to Millbrae for our second health fair, working hand in hand with the community to make health care accessible and engaging,” said Dr. Jian Zhang, CEO of Chinese Hospital. “Our mission goes beyond hospital walls—we strive to build healthier communities by meeting people where they are.”
Anders Fung, Mayor of Millbrae shared: “With our growing seniors and immigrant population, culturally sensitive and linguistically appropriate health care is more important than ever. We are grateful to have Chinese Hospital as our partner in delivering high quality health care to Millbrae and San Mateo County, one resident at a time.”
“At Peninsula Health Care District, our mission is to help residents achieve optimal health by investing in community wellness,” said Ana M. Pulido, MPA, CEO of Peninsula Health Care District. “The Millbrae Health & Fun Fair is a great example of that commitment in action. We’re proud to support Chinese Hospital through our Community Grants Program to bring essential preventive care directly to the community—empowering individuals and families to take proactive steps toward better health.
Chinese Hospital expresses appreciation to Peninsula Health Care District for its generous grant support, which makes these outreach programs possible. This collaboration plays a vital role in delivering critical health services across the Peninsula and promoting healthier neighborhoods for all.
Special thanks are extended to the City of Millbrae, community partners, and volunteers who made this event possible, including UCSF Health, San Mateo County Health – Chinese Health Initiative, University of the Pacific, Amazon One Medical, Jade Health, NationsBenefits, San Mateo Daily Journal, and many more organizations. Their collaboration strengthens community connections and empowers families to take charge of their health.
