November 29th marked a heartfelt moment at Chinese Hospital as the Siu family honored their parents by unveiling a naming plaque during a special ceremony. This commemoration celebrated the generous donation made by the Siu family in loving memory of their esteemed parents, Yee Keung Siu and Mee Jing Siu.
Yee Keung Siu and Mee Jing Siu, esteemed leaders and passionate advocates in San Francisco’s Chinatown community, left an indelible mark not just through their impactful contributions but also through their deep appreciation for Chinese Hospital. Despite having the means to choose healthcare providers, Yee and Mee found solace and exceptional care at Chinese Hospital, where they felt a profound connection due to the ability to communicate in their native language.
Reflecting on the pivotal role the hospital played in their parents’ lives, Burton, Jane, Landa, Patty, and Lilly Siu chose to honor their parents’ legacy by generously naming a patient suite on the sixth floor of Chinese Hospital. This suite not only offers a breathtaking view of the city their parents cherished but also symbolizes an enduring legacy of compassion and community spirit within the hospital’s walls.
